Susan Graham

July 25 - The stunning Susan Graham kicks off the celebration in a CSO concert featuring Berlioz's Les nuits d'été followed by Symphonie fantastique.






Peter Serkin

July 26 - Eschenbach and the CSO welcome pianist Peter Serkin playing Mozart, then perform Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol and Ravel's Boléro.






Rinat Shaham

July 27 - In his role as mentor, Eschenbach brings three gifted prodigies for their CSO debuts; mezzo-soprano Rinat Shaham, pianist Christopher Tainton, and cellist Dimitri Maslennikov. Following the CSO concert, Eschenbach collaborates with two of the evening's rising stars in a special postlude performance.






Borodin Quartet

July 31 - Eschenbach as pianist joins forces with the Borodin Quartet for the Shostakovich Piano Quintent--a work which Shostakovich wrote as a vehicle for his own use in performance.






Tzimon Barto

August 2 - Eschenbach and the CSO welcome back longtime friend Tzimon Barto in an all-Russian program featuring piano concertos of Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff--a reprise of last summer's spectacular back-to-back concert performance.






Midori

August 3 - Midori joins Eschenbach and the CSO in one of the most remarkable concerts of the summer featuring barber, Dvorák and Shostakovich.

August 6 - Brazilian tangos and pop songs with the G-Strings-- the string quintet from eschenbach's German orchestra.

August 8 - A command performance of a beloved Brahms symphony plus another Eshenbach protégé-- cellist Claudio Bohórquez playing the Lalo cello Concerto with the CSO.





Kim Kashkashian

August 9 - Berlioz's Harold in Italy-- essentially a viola concerto, with the beautiful and talented Kim Kashkashian as soloist. Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet suite rounds out the night.





Lang Lang

August 10 - Eschenbach's final CSO concert as Ravinia's Music director is a piano extravaganza, with Lang Lang playing Beethoven's fourth concerto, Christopher Taylor as soloist in bernstein's Age of Anxiety and the maestro himself playing a Mozart rondo.

August 11 - One of Ravinia's most popular events: Eschenbach and Lang Lang playing four-handed piano music of Mozart.

August 12-13 - the Sinfonietta Cracovia residency includes John Axelrod conducting Mozart's Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, the "Jupiter" Symphony and Eschenbach performing the K. 488 piano concerto.

Vinson Cole

August 14 - Eschenbach conducts Sinfonietta Cracovia in Berlioz's arranmgement of Der Freischütz, featuring tenor Vinson Cole and an all-star cast.
