There are many opportunities to learn more about the Symphonie fantastique this summer. Below is a list of events scheduled all around Chicagoland. Some of these are performances of the work at the Ravinia Festival, some are lectures about the work, some are musical activity sessions for children, and some are book discussions. The book discussions will take as their subject Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a work contemporaneous with Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique.
